About Us

OCS is the officially-recognized American Association of State Climatologists (AASC) state climate office for Oregon. Established in the 1970s, OCS is located in the College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences at Oregon State University and housed at the Oregon Climate Change Research Institute. OCS is the go-to source for weather and climate information in the state of Oregon.

OCS strives to connect users with mostly past and near-future climate data, seasonal outlooks, and general knowledge about Oregon climate and weather. OCS staff are frequently featured in local media, give public presentations, and are active on social media. OCS is a partner with many state agencies on a number of climate-related items, including the state's Water Availability Supply Committee and Drought Readiness Council.
